CALIFORNIA REGIONAL LEAGUE ANNOUNCES NEW ACADEMY PROGRAM FOR 2019-20 SEASON

The California Regional League (CRL) announced it will add a new Academy Program for Girls and Boys beginning in the 2019-2020 seasonal year. In addition to the existing Team Divisions, CRL will now feature the Academy Division scheduled to begin play in the Summer of 2019 and continue in the Spring of 2020. The CRL Team Division will continue to operate on multiple Performance Event play dates at designated locations.
The new Academy Division will also be incorporated into CRL’s collaboration with US Youth Soccer’s National League Pacific Conference, powered by CRL, creating additional pathways for the National League qualification.
The inaugural Girls Academy Program will include eight charter Girls clubs for the 2019-2020 Season in age groups 13U through 18U/19U.

The inaugural Boys Academy Program will consist of two 12U age groups, a 2008 birth year division and a 2008-2009 birth year division and include 10 charter Boys clubs.

The CRL Academy Program will be administered in conjunction with a set of Academy Standards consistent with participating clubs commitment to establish an athlete-centric and holistic development environment for youth player development.
The Pacific Conference, powered by CRL, is one of 13 conferences which comprise the National League Program and operate at a multi-state level — providing high-level competition on a consistent basis within targeted geographic areas (California).
